I’m currently processing one of my inboxes that I haven’t looked at in a few months. There’s a few interesting ideas in there, aswell as a bunch of worthwhile ressources I need to take a second look at. And also some things I can hardly make sense of anymore (a note dated to september, just saying “celery juice”). Here’s a list of the stuff I found most promising.
- https://anarchive.fo.am/crystal/: I think I stumbled across this one while searching for Justin Pickards Gonzo Futurist Manifesto (the original link had gone dead a while ago). It’s a curated reading list of anarchive posts with the subtitle “Navigating Uncertainty”. Haven’t yet had a chance to properly process everything, but seems to contain some interesting stuff regarding futuring, model- and map-making and related practices.
- Marx & Energy: A lecture by Sean O’Brien from 2024 that focusses on marx-inflected readings in Energy Humanities and critical theories of energy. Looks to be a valuable introduction to the topic and comes with a great reading list.
- Towards the progressive network-system: a normative theory of organisation to achieve disruption in times of crisis. I mean, the title pretty much says it all. This one seems to build on some work done by Rodrigo Nunes
- Max Haiven & Weird Economies Podcast. Probably stumbled across this via Eric. First season of the podcast focuses on the role games / gamification play in the capitalist economy (and of course possibilities of subversion).
- The End of Scarcity? From ‘Polycrisis’ to Planetary Phase Shift. Nafeez M. Ahmed argues that the Polycrisis-concept doesn’t really capture the current situation. While polycrisis names the interaction of separate crisis, this is not all there is. Behind the polycrisis, so he argues, there’s a “planetary phase-shift” going on.
- Strategizing Desire. This seems to identify a blindspot in the recent reception (domestication?) of Mark Fisher and tries to take him seriously as a strategic thinker.
- Writing a Contemporary History of the Occult (Syllabus). Again, title says it all. Features Federici, Preciado and some Virilio.
- Structures of Feeling, Technocratic Policy, and Violence: On the Nature of Historical Change in Kim Stanley Robinson’s Ministry for the Future
- Structural Holes and Good Ideas. “The hypothesis in this article is that people who stand near the holes in a social structure are at higher risk of having good ideas.”
- AnyStyle: Paste a bibliography and have it formatted in whatever style you like.
- This quote by Susan Sontag:

- Power and Feasibility: Innovation Work in Organizations as an Infrastructural Practice: “This essay presents a framework that considers innovation work as an interplay of project, infrastructure (including physical, organizational, technological and financial aspects), and organizational context.”
- Tiny Toolkits & Tiny Toolkit Manifesto.
- PirateBox: “PirateBox is a DIY anonymous offline file-sharing and communications system built with free software and inexpensive off-the-shelf hardware.” Seems to be discontinued sadly.
- jrnl: A journaling tool for the command line.
